![]() Now Kale is actually dead, but there’s a bit more to the story if you go back through the game after the credits and find all the hidden SPECTRA doors. Hilariously Kale goes out in the most pathetic way possible, by exclaiming “this is just too much work,” before his suit explodes. We also learn that SPECTRA’s ultimate goal is to control the minds of consumers and get them to purchase more products, as Vandelay’s sales were starting to decline.Īfter a lengthy battle, and some help from the others, Chai manages to defeat Kale. Just before the final battle, we learned that Kale was only able to take over Vandelay by using SPECTRA on his own mother, thus handing the reigns over to him. Hi-Fi Rush’s ending is clear-cut, but there’s still important context to dig into -especially if you take the time to do some of the post-game content. BethesdaĮvery one of the main characters gets their time to shine in the final hours, leading right up to the climactic final battle with Kale, who launched a literal hostile takeover of Vandelay before the game started. Sorry to say, but if you need your playable characters to be the same sex/gender, race, nationality, or sexuality as you to have some kind of connection or desire to play as that character, you may have issues. There’s a bit more to Kale’s story if you dig into the post-game content. Meanwhile you're intentionally limiting the scope of games you could be playing and enjoy all because the main character isn't the same sex or gender as you. You say that not having a playable female character is limiting the potential amount of players for this game, yet I have seen plenty of female streamers enjoy this one. Do you only watch movies and TV shows with female leads, or listen to music made by female artists, too? Imagine limiting your interest in video games solely on ideological reasons that shouldn't matter to anyone just looking to have a good time. ![]() Here's hoping that the game succeeds enough to make way for DLC or a sequel where we do get the option to play as other characters! If the main character's gender/ethnicity is a big enough hurdle for you to get over, it's probably not going to be your type of game anyways. of the main character really shouldn't stop you from picking it up. If you're into character-action games like Devil May Cry, this game is fantastic with a lot of heart, and the gender/etc. The game's central gimmick is tied to his character, and adding other playable characters probably would've meant sacrificing the depth of this budget title.Īlso I hope you're making a joke about the developers 'dissing' women/minorities just because they chose a white guy to be the main character? I mean, yeah, it's a bit boring, but it's nothing to get offended by. While I'm all for more representation in videogames, the reason why you don't play as Peppermint or other characters in Hi-Fi Rush is because Chai has such a large amount of animation, movesets, and character. then I'll just wait for the (probably mostly male) devs to finally realize they're dissing half the population of potential players out there. I would love to play Peppermint, but if that's not an option. Come on guys, we play games, too (sometimes better, hehe). This is the same mistake Space Engineers made before they finally got a clue (years later)-by assuming their entire audience is male.
